Time for Demo Weekend!

Well, it's that time of year again!! DEMO WEEKEND at the Dawn Bibby Design Studio!
All this Saturday & Sunday there will be lots and lots of us demonstration a whole variety of crafting goodies at the Design Studio and up the road at Oswaldtwistle Mills!

I am at home at the moment working on my samples and having great fun!!

I have picked some gorgeous stamps from Paper Artsy - Some Christmas and some not Christmas! I am also working with Cosmic Shimmer Watercolor Paints and Le Plume Pens with my Waterbrush.

I have given up on trying to get into my craft room so I have set up camp in the Dining Room - much to Chris' dismay!!!! I am trying to keep as tidy as possible - but how come it always ends up in chaos when I am playing (sorry working!!)

Hope to see you all this weekend - make sure you pop by and say Hi!!

Blank Scrapbook Pages!!

We have a Staff Scrapbooking Night here at work every month - it's great fun and gives us all a chance to just sit and get on with our memory albums! So, I sat down last week - opened up my scrapbooking box and bag to find all my papers that co-ordinate with my K&Co Album tat I have bought to do Ben's First Year Album - But, no photos!!!! I had them printed off and in an envelope in my box, I am sure of it - But now they just aren't there!!! I am sure they will turn up somewhere - but I felt lost!!! How on earth was I gonna get my pages done without my photos!!
Well, after a brew and a yoghurt (trying to be good - swimsuit time in 9 weeks!!) I thought, don't be daft - Just get your pages laid out and stuck down and then just put your photos on when you get them printed again! It was so easy!!!! Not thinking about colours in photos - just concentrating on the layouts! Think I might do it this way from now on - I got 3 pages done in an hour - So much quicker! Mind you, saying that, I might feel differently when I go to put my photos on them - LOL! We'll see!!!

Will put photos on when finished off!!

Playing with my Camera again!

I can't put it down!! I have taken so many photographs over the last few days - Ben is completely used to me snapping away at him all the time now - I even woke him up this week taking a picture of him asleep!!! He just looked at me and turned over - Probably thinking, Why can't she just leave me to sleep!!

I met up with my Brother this week and the flowers in the front garden (which used to be my grandma's house) are starting to come out again. They are the most gorgeous Hydrangea's - and everytime we see them come out they always make us think about Grandma - as she loved her flowers in her garden.
I love the purple and lilac tones that come through!
Aren't they pretty.
Just joined a local photography group as well - so hopefully my camera skills are going to get better and better!!

Quick Scrapbook Pages

Well, I got 3 hours to myself yesterday afternoon as Ben slept and hubbie was at work! Bliss!!
So, I put Parent Trap (one of my favourite films!) on the TV - made a pot of coffee, grabbed a bar of chocolate and sat down to do some scrapbooking!! What a way to spend Sunday afternoon!

I had some new papers to play with from Basic Grey - LEMONADE and some beautiful papers from We R Memory Keepers called Tiffany's! It's no wonder I was attracted to these papers as it is my dream to own a ring from Tiffany's one day plus of course one of my favourite films is Breakfast at Tiffany's with the amazing Audrey Hepburn - she is one of my all time favourite actresses. All the papers all have individual names too - Monroe; Streisand; Loren - What great names for a collection of papers.

So, I pulled out the Tiffany's range first and went to work on the Hepburn paper, of course! I wanted to do a page with my wedding photos (I still have not even started by scrapbook of my wedding yet!!!) A lot of my photos are in black and white so this bright coloured paper works perfectly with it. First of all i took 2 pink flowers from Bazzill Basics and placed Glossy Accents on to each petal, placed these aside to dry. I took a strip from the Loren paper which says "All You Need Is Love Is All You Need" and pierced it at the ends to tie ric rac ribbon through. I then glued a pink flower to the bottom left hand side of the page, then alternated with a black one and so on. The sentiment was then laid over the top of the flowers and attached to the 12" x 12" with the ric rab ribbon. Photos were attached at a slight angle at the top side of the paper and it was done!

My next page was with the Lemonade papers from Basic Grey - these are beautiful, so girly! So I wanted to use a picture of my niece Alicia! She loves smiling for the camera with her cheeky little grin.
First of all I took 2 of the pink Bazzil Basics flowers (loving these at the minute - can you tell!!) Decorated one with Glossy Accents and one with Distress Cracle Paint from Ranger - put them aside to dry! I then used the Picnic Table card as my base - Took a piece of 12 x 12 White ColorCore and teared it down ever edge to create a distressed look. I then teared off two strips of paper from the Cherry Blossom & Saltwater Taffy papers and layed them on to the white color core. I matted my photo on to a piece of the pretty petals paper from the same range of stuck all my paper down on to my white color core and then stuck this down on to my base 12 x 12. I finished it off by placing my flowers and sticking some glitter crystals into the centre of my flowers with glossy accents. My journalling was done with Dodlebug Candy Shoppe stickers!
I then made a few birthday cards that needed making and then I had to stop - washing needed doing and pots to wash!! I wish I could be like Mary Poppins and just click my fingers and it would all just do itself!!!

LEMONADE!!

Well, this is the range of brand new papers from Basic Grey just arrived at work called LEMONADE!! Makes me dream of a cold, cold glass of traditional lemonade with lots and lots of ice!! Aaaahhhhh!!
I just love these papers and the pictures that I took of my Goddaughter at the weekend are going to tie in perfectly as her dress is a gingham type pattern too.
Think I am going to use some flower embellishments too!!

Will post when done!
